About me

Hi! I’m Colleen. I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist, specialized in early language and feeding. I received a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Miami University (i.e. Miami of Ohio), and a Master of Science in Communication Science and Disorders from Florida State University. Since graduating, I’ve worked on pediatric multidisciplinary teams in settings including private practice clinics, home visits, and outpatient rehabilitation, both in Chicago and South Florida. I knew I wanted to work with infants and toddlers early on, and was awarded the Traineeship in Interdisciplinary Early Intervention in Severe Disabilities grant in graduate school. I have my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and am a licensed speech language pathologist, currently in the state of Florida. I’ve completed continuing education in treatment for both early language and feeding disorders.

Through all of my experience diagnosing and treating children with a wide variety of speech, language, and feeding delays and disorders, I have found that I have the greatest impact when I am able to make a connection with the family, and bring evidence-based approaches into the home for the family to implement. That’s why I started BabbleBites. I’m passionate about providing tips for parents to use in the home environment to help their child’s language and feeding development flourish, from your baby’s first babbles, to their first bites.

My husband, Florian, is a big supporter of this blog, so a big thank you to him for helping to bring this to fruition! When we’re not working, you can find us somewhere outside! We love to do yoga, scuba dive, go to the beach, surf, swim, play tennis, and ski.
